What happened to Bypartisan Support?

"We have nothing to fear but fear itself." --Franklin Deleno Roosevelt.

When President Obama began talking about fixing the economy before his inauguration, everybody said, "Okay, let's work together to get this done. We are going to set aside our differences and our politics and try something different."
Obama gets inaugurated.
He begins to try to push for something new.
Not one republican vote.

What happened?

When Roosevelt came into office, we had hit rock bottom. There was nothing more to do than to set aside our differences and try something different. Now, we are headed in the same direction, and we can't work together to make sure we don't make another great depression.

We have had 8 years of not getting along. Can we start acting like adults and make a compromize? I realize that the arguement is that Obama's budget plan is more than what Bush was asking for, but it's not how much he's spending, it's where he's spending it. Bush wanted to put a greater portion of our budget into the Iraq war, which means that the citizens wouldn't be receiving the money and, thus, not spending it where it's needed.

To be able to fix the economy, we need to "prime the pump." We need to be able to put money back into the economy so that people can spend it where it is needed. This is what the stimulus plan is talking about.

Are we too afraid to take a chance and try something different, or are we going to do something before it's too late? Right now, Obama wants to be our Robin Hood: he's going to tell the wealthy that they should be paying taxes that they had been cut from and give them back to our less fortunate.

Let's work on getting people to buy stuff.

Right now is the best time to buy a house. Don't worry about where the money's coming from, go buy a house! Let's stop being afraid to ride the bicycle and work on getting back on it.

You can agree or disagree on me, I don't care. I feel as though I had to get my opinion out there. Let's get a good discussion going, but no flaming please.

DC.WS: Scary's Mod Application

So, It's that time again. We have a really good application to become a moderator on DetectiveConan.WS. Here's his Mod APP.

Name: Scary01 Age: 15
Time(s) Available:on weekdays 4am-11am weekends all 1am-11am(mostly on all day)
Day(s) Available : everyday

Answer these questions to the best of your ability:

1.) As a site moderator you may have to delete or even threaten your own friends to get them to behave on the website. Tell us about a time where your friends got out of line and you attempted, or did stop them.

once my friends were very upset about something and decided to take it out on smashing school property...i warned them to stop but they wont listen, but instead they talked back...so i went it and stopped them and told the headmaster about it..they hated me and they were very angry i reported about them..but inorder to prevent incidents like this i'm sure i did the right thing..ever since that incident i was ignored by them and they didnt speak to me hardly, i felt lonely and annoyed..but however i felt gd i did the right thing...

recently on this chat my friends disrespected other members by teasing them in various ways and so i told them off, demanding that they apologize..some listened and some refused (I don't want to mention the names) but in the end i got all of them to apologize, and everything went well.

2.) As a moderator you get power over posts, deleting them, banning users. Tell us about a time if ever that you let power go to your head, what did you feel, did you enjoy it, did you not enjoy it?

it had happened once or twice, when i was in charge of the classroom when my teacher was gone, i was able to confiscate items and put people in detentions, and there was this guy who keeps showing off...and i confiscated 2 of his items which was a calculator and his phone and put him in detention for 15mins for just showing off...after that i felt wrong and apologised for what i've done..luckily he forgave me and i felt really bad doing that sort of thing to him..and we became friends..

3.) Friends are always considered number one to many people, but as a site administrator or moderator taking sides is not an option, you must listen to each story with no attachments to that person what so ever. Tell us about a time where you had to choose between your friend's story and someone else's, what did you feel, did you do the right thing?

i was a once one of the head students in my school..and there was once where a 14 year old kid reported me that he was being bullied by them..i listened to both sides and turns out that my friends are wrong..i felt unsure about what i was going to do. i had to choose between one kid and a group of my friends..surely they would get in trouble..but apparently i was against my friends..and they were mad at me for getting them in trouble but later on everything went back to normal..i felt good that i wasnt just being bias..because i knew that..if i cant be reliable and unbias how could anyone rely on me.

Enfrijoladas

So, both of my brothers have this Spanish class this year (same class, different class periods), and their latest assignment was to make a dish that the teacher assigned them and bring some in for the rest of the class.

First night, Sam had to make something.
Here's something to remember about Sam: he's vegitarian, so it must have been pretty irritating for him when the teacher handed him a recipe that called for hamburger. Nonetheless, he made it like the recipe said. This recipe was not written down very well and ended up being a big mess...and he ended up getting sick and staying home from school.

Next day, Mom comes home and helps him redoo the recipe..not exactly following what was written down but making it how it should have been.

It tasted like spicy sloppy joes on a tortilla.

Tonight was Ben's attempt. He got a recipe called Enfrijoladas, which is tortillas dipped in beans. (A vegetarian dish, by the way)

It was Delicious! So Delicious, in fact, that I wrote down the recipe. It can be found Here.

A slightly Less Professional blog

I originally created a blogger for a class to host a portfolio, but I would like to post some stuff that I wouldn't normally post on a professional portfolio (such as the Tapango Chat box, or a link toDetective Conan.WS). So I will comment occasionally here. If you would like to see my portfolio, it's Here. Please Enjoy this blog.
